Which Vaccines Do Workers On Foreign Relocation Need?
A variety of vaccinations are recommended for workers involved in foreign relocation. Depending on age and where they are going, the following vaccines may be recommended: hepatitis A, hepatitis B, typhoid, cholera, yellow fever, Japanese encephalitis, rabies, measles, mumps and rubella (MMR), Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis), pneumonia and influenza.

Food & Water –
May be recommended for travel to some lesser developed countries especially in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean. - Hepatitis A –
Food & Water –
Protects against liver infection, long-lasting protection through booster dose - Hepatitis B –
Blood & Body Fluids –
Liver infection commonly spread through needles, medical equipment or direct contact with body fluids. Vaccination is the best form of protection. - Influenza –
Airborne –
Provides high protection against virus. Recommended on an annual basis. - Japanese Encephalitis –
Mosquito –
Recommended depending on itinerary and activities. May be given to short- and extended-stay travelers, recurrent travelers and travel to rural areas. Present throughout regions of East (especially Southeast) Asia. Most cases from May to October. - Measles Mumps Rubella (MMR) –
Various Vectors –
Vaccination recommended for anyone without evidence of immunity and/or born after 1957. - Pneumonia –
Airborne –
Two vaccines given separately. Both are recommended for all over the age of 65, those with certain medical conditions or immunocompromised. - Rabies –
Saliva of Infected Animals –
Vaccine recommended for certain travelers based on destination, activities and length of stay. - TDAP (Tetanus, Diphtheria & Pertussis) –
Wounds & Airborne –
A tetanus booster vaccination is recommended for all adults once every ten years. - Typhoid –
Food & Water –
Recommended for travel to most countries. - Yellow Fever –
Mosquito –
Required for entry to many countries in South America and Africa. May be required for countries throughout the world if traveling from a region with yellow fever. Recommended for most of South America and Africa.
